Everyone sing along!

“Oooooooooooohhhhhhh…the weather outside is frightful…”

Of course, in Alabama, frightful means that it’s still 90 in September.  It’s muggy, it’s warm, and my fall clothes are looking so nice, but it’s still way too hot to wear them.

Tonight my boy and I went out to dinner.  Cracker Barrel.  We walk in, I look to my right…and there’s a holiday display.  I know, you’re thinking Halloween, because it’s 7 or so weeks away.  Right?

Wrong.

Snowmen.

Snow.  Men.

In SEPTEMBER.

In 90 DEGREE WEATHER.

Inside there was a Christmas tree.

People, come on.  It’s September.  I realize Christmas decorations are coming out earlier and earlier.  I don’t agree.  Can’t we get through Halloween and Thanksgiving? Apparently not.  Apparently we can’t get through my birthday without dragging out the winter stuff.

In Alabama.  Where it’s still 90.

My boy had our waitress reduced to  giggles with all his snow in Alabama jokes.  She even brought us a ceramic snowman to sit on our table while we ate dinner.

Snowmen in September.  That’s just wrong.  So wrong.
