The final hours of 2007 are drawing to a close. It’s been a busy year. A good year. I finished out my job at GA Highlands College, applied to 2 grad schools and got accepted by 1. I moved not once, but twice, because apparently I have a compulsive moving syndrome. I started back to school, took out my first student loans ever, and got papers accepted at a conference. Looking back, I can’t find a single thing to complain about, which means I had a pretty darn good year.
2008 will probably be even busier, courtesy of school and hopefully more conferences and publications, minus the moves. 2008 will be the first year since I’ve moved down South that I will not move anywhere. The thought is overwhelming. I must go move some furniture around, or something.
So now is the time to make the all important resolutions that I’ll feel good about for a month, and then forget about. I usually don’t make resolutions, because I think they are kind of silly. And I know I’ll forget about them by Groundhog Day. However, this year I’m going to give it a try, and not set anything unrealistic, which for me is huge. I’m also going to leave out the traditional ‘lose weight, go to the gym more’ ones that, let’s be honest, are only going to be filler.
For 2008, I will:
1. Lose weight and go to the gym more. HAHAHA! Just kidding.
1 (for real): Get my life more organized so I can reduce the amount I stress out over things. Make a plan for schoolwork and a schedule for myself on the days I’m home so I don’t F around on the Internet all day, then end up freaking out about not having things done. Realize that while my friends may call me a loser for doing my papers for the semester early, I’ll be a lot happier at the end of the semester when they are freaking out and getting 2 hours of sleep a night.
2. Clean things out, donate said things to charity, then not fill the house back up with more stuff. Continue this trend all year long.
3. Realize I’m not superwoman, and that sometimes it’s not possible for me to be a daughter, girlfriend, friend, student, teacher and good/responsible citizen all at the exact same time.
4. Take more pictures
5. Eat healthier (note, not diet, per say, but eat healthier. And less.). Take up yoga or pilates on a regular basis so my back stops hurting as much
6. Not let tons of mail pile up on the table in the entrance hall, so it looks all cluttered and crappy
7. Get a 4.0 GPA in the spring
8. Remember to do things for me
9. Be the best person I can be, and support all my family and friends in the best possible ways I can.
10. Blog 365!
Happy New Year!

I fully support reasonable resolutions! Just about to craft mine.
BTW, love the snow falling across the screen!

[...] 2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I didn’t make any for last year. I did make some for this year. [...]
