Not yet caught up

Spamalot last night, by the way, was awesome.  We saw it last year in Atlanta, but we sat kind of far back (and I forgot my glasses) so I missed a lot of the facial expressions.  Last night we were 5 rows back, and I liked it even better this time.  We laughed the whole time.  Even if you aren’t a Python fan, I still recommend it.  I never watched much Monty Python, but I still found it very funny.  I want to go see it on Broadway, because I bet it’s even more phenomenal there.

In the mad past two weeks of getting papers done, I pretty much neglected every aspect of teaching. Oops. Thankfully, last week they were still giving speeches, so I didn’t have to do lesson plans. Yesterday I completely dropped the ball though, and ended up doing some housekeeping, question answering, and then let them go early.

Today I’ve spent the better part of the day grading speeches (I should know better than to let all the speeches pile up and grade them all at the same time), and planning a lesson plan for tomorrow. Persuasion -my favorite! However, our class book SUCKS, and we are so pigeonholed in our lesson plans/material we are allowed to teach, so I’m stuck trying to creatively get around the crap in our book and make it interesting.

I still have a class of speeches to grade, so tomorrow morning after I go to the health center (I was required to get a TB test and a meningitis vaccine before they’d let me register for summer and fall) to prove I don’t have TB, I’ll finish up the speech grading.

Tomorrow we leave for Savannah for the weekend! Part conference/networking (no, I’m not presenting, just going to watch and start networking) and part relax and take a break. My friend has already promised me a trip to the Daquiri Bar, and Savannah has open container laws…woo and double hoo!

I guess this means I’ll have to pre-publish my blog for the next few days…because after 3 solid months of Blog 365, I’m not giving up now!!

  1. I heard that about WordPress… I’m jealous that you can schedule for something to go out! If I save something in draft in Blogger, I have to remember to update the date before I post, or else it has the old info. So annoying!

Have fun in Savannah! I’ve only been once, but what a fun older city.
