The final week of summer session one is upon me – funny, it seems like it just started! I thought that this month would be a month of absolute insanity, but interestingly, it hasn’t been that terrible. Granted, I will never do another semester like this again if I can help it, but it could have been a lot worse. Hopefully I won’t screw up my last two stats assignments too royally. If I don’t, I’ll consider the semester a success.
I had a nice, quiet weekend. My boy had to work all weekend (boo!) so I was left to my own devices quite a bit – which, for this wild woman, means doing schoolwork. Actually, Friday I played the role of supermodel for Mojo, who is working on building his portrait portfolio. He’s teased me with a couple of pictures so far, and I think they are wonderful. After playing around downtown B’ham for a bit, we went to Vulcan Park, where we ran into my boy and Brian, who were there for their company lunch. We all sat and chatted and enjoyed the warm day, and somewhere in there my boy and Brian volunteered to help Mojo move – mostly, I think, because they got so excited about the thought of twitting the move. As Brian said “I’ll twit: Mojo’s crap is heavy. Send”.
Yes. They are geeks. But I love them anyway. And as I decided (and twitted) myself on Friday, nerd is the new cool, to which it was responded “It’s not nerd. It’s Geek!”
Did you follow all that? If not, here’s the cliff notes: My boy and Brian want to use Twitter to detail their adventures in helping someone move. And I’m a nerd who can double as a photo model.
That’s pretty much all you need to know for Friday. And I think that’s the most links I put in to a post paragraph in a long time.
Saturday I waited for the cable man to not show up again. This makes the 4th time we have been stood up by the cable company in waiting for them to come out and fix a faulty installation they did. My boy got so angry he called the president of the local office – and shockingly, today, got a call back from said president. Hmmm. So as I waited, I worked on my stats assignment, and wrote half of my research proposal due for my research class this week. I met my boy mid-afternoon, and we ventured up north to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening with Brian and his family (including his awesome parents) and play in the pool. I pretended I was still a college diver, and showed off a little bit on the board. I didn’t get hurt, and the next day I wasn’t that sore, so I consider that a success. Elizabeth told me that one of the lifeguards asked if I tried out for the Olympics – no junior, not quite.
Sunday was a lazy day – more schoolwork (so thrilling!), a little playing around with Flickr, and then I proceeded to sit in front of the television for the better part of 6 hours to watch diving and gymnastics Olympic trials.
So here I am, beginning the last week of summer session 1. But don’t I look good? (Thanks, Mojo!)

Dang, I got tired just reading your post. Sounds like you had a good weekend though, and that’s what matters.
Oh, and the picture looks great. Your friend did a good job.

wow… you got a lot done!
You go girl… or shall I say… You go NERD! lol
I love how you write like you would be telling/talking to a friend.
I feel like I know you in real-life.
I love it.
I think you always look great in any photo you post of yourself… you are just a beautiful woman!! And this photo does not disappoint either!
I love the coloring of it… you look stunning, as always!! LOVE the smile!! You always look so happy!
Which I think you generally are… always happy that is! We can all take a lesson from you in that… always smile! I think most times while you are posting you are smiling… especially when typing something about your boy!
It totally shows through in your writing! ( the smile that is!!)
thanks for the comments on the pictures! It was quite loud at the races and the girls hadn’t been since last summer and only one or two times… they both loved it but didn’t like the noise so much. lol

I categorically deny the last portion of the second paragraph and the entirety of the third ‘graph.
