I don’t think I can say that I hate our health center. I think I hate the train of incompetent idiots that have managed to screw up my status so bad that I still can’t get registered for the health insurance, and oh, the old policy runs out today.
*walking very carefully*
It turns out the grad school can’t read. Because they misread my paperwork declaring that I had a full assistantship. Which lead to them sending the wrong paperwork to student insurance, which lead to them demanding me pay $1600, and not letting me sign up until said $1600 is paid.
(Side note: $1600 x 2 policy terms is $3200. Our student insurance is SO not worth $3200 a year. But I don’t pay for it, so I can’t care that much).
So as of today, the grad school fixed their mistake. Student receivables has me all clear. Everyone has me as the right status – except the student health insurance office. Who still wants me to pay $1600.
I don’t even want to tell you how much time I spent on the phone today. It’s obnoxious. Ok. Want a hint? I spent close to 4 hours being on the phone today trying to get this resolved. You’d think it would be resolved now, right?
Nope.
Son of a bitch.
I’m a huge klutz. I walk into walls. I trip on stairs. I run into furniture. I need to have health insurance.
I’m so at my wits end right now, I don’t even know how to fix it. I finally had my paperworked faxed, and when the insurance lady called to tell me they couldn’t accept it because my status wasn’t right, I told her that they could make an exception and hold the paperwork.
Grrr.
P.S. Still haven’t looked at my Chicago stuff yet.

I really hate red tape crap like that with a real passion. Be safe, and I hope it works out soon and without too much more aggravation.
