Weekly Winners, 8/24/08

The Weekly Winners is the great idea of Lotus at Sarcastic Mom – click on her for the original weekly winners post, and to see more great weekly winners!

This week was a busy week – more Olympic watching research, new student orientation, the first day of classes, and meetings to get squared away for my research assignment this fall.  Phew!

At least some were chill…

You think she’d do the laundry, instead of just lay in it…

This is what happens when you leave a plastic water bottle in the car all day.  In August.  In Alabama.

Flowers in the evening light…

New bridges over old paths…

Don’t go chasing waterfalls…

Home away from home (aka my building on campus)

This was my Wordless Wednesday, but I like it! (The picture, not the reading load)

And one from last year, but as a preview of the happiness that is to come next weekend…Auburn football!

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Love the meows! That water bottle is just plain craziness. Seriously. The bridge path is awesome – I love coming across those and usually take a picture, too.

  2. I hear ya’ on the heat- Kentucky isn’t much better. I learned really quick after we moved here that the heat is BRUTAL, in part due to an unfortunate sippie cup incident. Yikes.
Love the fb picture- my oldest plays for middle school, so we’re all over that this time of year!

  3. Ha – the water bottle was funny.

  4. The water bottle cracked me up! And I can’t imagine why the cat didn’t help out with the laundry while she was lying in it…sheesh :D

    Great pics this week!

  5. Wow, it must be hot in your car, in August.
    Love the laundry cat

  6. I love the black and white of the bridge…and, I had that happen to me with a plastic cup from Dunkin Donuts (like Krispy Kreme’s with better coffee and worse donuts) in New Hampshire!

  7. That first picture makes me wish I was a cat! Gorgeous!

  8. I love the first shot! Soo cute:)
My very first time to join! I hope you can drop by my post :D

  9. Great pictures this week. I love the new path one the best…and all those books. OMG.

  10. They are all awesome, but I am especially drawn to the black and white of the bridge, in the woods.

  11. I’m thinking you and I need to talk more about what you’re in school for. I graduated with a media communications and journalism degree. (No graduate work.)

I love the cat in the laundry basket. :)

  12. Great photos with lots of variety. Good choices.

  13. What a lovely kitty, and I love the building shots!

  14. ♥ the kitty ones~the water bottle is scary–that it’s actually that hot–but I can relate–it’s still pretty hot here in Georgia as well (but we’ve gotten some relief since mid week thanks to Fay)~my very fave though is the waterfall one! And my hubby & oldest son (12 1/2) are gearing up for football season as well & trying to steer my youngest son (3) in too ;)

  15. Ahem. Yeah. The heat is back here too.

You have me singing waterfalls now.

    Pretty building!!!!

Alas, I’m really interested in the Internet Politics book. Does it look good?

  16. Love the black and white one in the woods.

Sorry ’bout your water bottle. It’s hot here in Texas too!

  17. Love the kitty (of course), and I love the bridge!

And, I can relate to the car-melting incident. We like to call it the great tape disaster of 1997. You know, way back before I had a CD player in my car, we had a whole box of cassette tapes that used to live in my 1994 Geo Prizm.

Not necessarily in their cases. And they did not agree with the DC summer!

  18. Love the bridge. All cool pics!

  19. I love the picture of the wooden bridge!

  20. Is that water bottle real? REally?

  21. I enjoyed ALL your Weekly Winners … but the first is just too sweet for words. Reminds me of Ms. Kitty ;–)

I was ‘almost’ wordless at Sacred Ruminations Wednesday … playing with ‘filters in Photoshop’ for the first time … and am almost wordless today for my T-13 experimenting some more.
    Hugs and blessings,
