This meme I stole from Fishing Around, my almost birthday twin.
1. gone on a blind date? Yes. Several. Don’t ask me why. I was new to Atlanta, all my friends were married, they tried hard to find me someone. The worst was a friend’s friend…he didn’t talk. And gave one word answers (and I’m not the outgoing type to carry a conversation with someone I don’t know). He also ended up getting fairly drunk and not being able to walk straight…so I named him Wobbly Bobbly.
2. skipped school? Of course. I just did on Tuesday.
3. watched someone die? Yes, but I didn’t know it. The person had a progressive illness, and I was too young to understand what was really going on. Looking back now, it was as clear as day.
4. been on a plane? Tons. That tends to happen when you move about 1000 miles from home.
5. been on the opposite side of your country? Yes!! I grew up on the East Coast, and I’ve been to San Diego and San Francisco. I really want to visit Oregon though.
6. swam in the ocean? Yes, in the Atlantic, the Pacific, the Long Island Sound (shudder), and the Gulf of Mexico. I’m guessing when we were in Belize, that was still considered the Gulf as well.
7. had your booze taken away by the cops? Well…I was at several parties that got busted by the cops when I was in college where the booze was taken – but they weren’t my parties or my booze…
8. lettered in high school sport? 3. Diving, Gymnastics, and Track and Field. I also earned All American honors in Gymnastics all 4 years.
9. cried yourself to sleep? Yes, I have. It’s an awful way to wake up the next morning though.
10. played cops and robbers? I think maybe, a long long time ago…
11. sung karaoke? Hell. No. Way. This is one thing that I will NEVER do, no matter how drunk I get. I promise.
12. paid for a meal with coins only? If you count a milkshake as a meal (hey, it’s a perfectly valid dinner), then yes, I have.
13. done something you told yourself you wouldn’t? Gone back to get a Ph.D. I was very insistent at the end of my undergrad that I wouldn’t go back to school. Then I was insistent during my M.A. that I wouldn’t go back for the Ph.D. Well…here I am!
14. cheated on an exam? Yes. I have. The last time was in high school. But I’ll admit that I put a lot of thought into how to cheat on the GRE and get away with it.
15. made prank phone calls? Of course. My friend in 5th grade had her own private phone and phone number.
16. laughed until some sort of beverage came out of your nose? Unfortunately, yes. Soda. Ouch.
17. caught a snowflake on your tongue? Every time it snows!
18. written a letter to Santa Claus? Every year I believed in Santa. He always wrote back. I remember the last year I believed telling my mom “You and Santa have the same handwriting!!!”
19. watched the sunrise with someone you care about? Yes! The last time I did was in San Francisco, and I got to be with my boy.
20. been kissed under the misteltoe? Yup!
21. ever been arrested? No way.
22. gone ice skating? Yes – in both an indoor rink, and outside on a frozen pond. The last time I was on a frozen pond, my friend and I were out in the middle, and the ice started cracking under us. Her father freaked, and we had to drop down to our stomachs and slide ourselves off to shore. That was totally freaky – we’d slide slowly and carefully over a section, and we’d hear these deep, groaning cracking noises under us. Ugh. Scarred me from ever wanting to skate on a pond again.
23. been skinny dipping outdoors? Maybe….
24. had a nickname? At this point in my life, I have the most nicknames I’ve ever had. I really made it through my entire life up to this point without one, but I like having them!
25. been on TV? Several times – a lot in high school when I did gymnastics, and in a couple commercials since then when we needed an extra.

I have done a couple of those!
